This has been a dust-free year in the Selke house as we have had an entire year without construction in our home.  It has amazed us how ­uneventful life seems when not living around a home remodel. 

Jennifer continues to run a summer camps at UC Berkeley. This year she reduced her time slightly as a school psychologist to accept a part-time faculty position in the School of Education at UC Berkeley in the School Psychology program.  She still teaches a couple of times a year in Honolulu and does some contract work that keeps her days filled.  Camp remains the most fun and fulfilling. Brian, trying to keep as busy as Jennifer, has added drumming to his skill set and is now in three bands playing in two church bands as well as one rock band he started called Moraga.  You can see his band at www.moragaband.com.  He is still an IT manager with Advent Software in San Francisco.  We both feel very blessed to enjoy our work, family, and church.

The cats are doing well.  We discovered automatic feeders and drinking fountains so they are even more self-sufficient.  That way when we are not home at the exact time they expect to eat we don’t feel guilty.  We have come to accept that the cats see us as animals with thumbs, which if they had, we would be obsolete.  They have found a new sleeping spot right above Jennifer’s computer (Huey pictured below), which is only a problem when they hang their heads over the screen or both try so squeeze in the small space at the same time. 

We did some traveling this year in addition to the trips Jennifer makes for work.  We visited friends in Orlando (no not Mickey) and Oregon. Jennifer’s sister got married in October so a few trips to Chicago for wedding festivities and Jennifer’s 8th grade reunion were in order.
